Education for Children Who Deserve a Better Chance

Microloans For Mothers

The village of Kaun Khlong now has a microloan program. We've been working with Niels Lund, Executive Director of Class-ACT, a non-profit organization that supports arts education in Cambodia. Niels started the Microloan for Mothers program in Phnom Penh and wanted to expand it to a rural village.

Five mothers with children attending our school will each receive a $100 business loan that will forever change their lives, and that of their families. The loans will be paid back with interest, which will be used to support the Kaun Khlong Primary School. During a six-month period, the mothers will meet weekly for instruction and sharing of ideas. They form a solid group with each mother co-guaranteeing the loan of the other four. It's a life-changing formula for the mothers, their families, and for the school.
